Job Description

LifeCare is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing software, insurance regulations, and exceptional communication skills to effectively respond to inquiries from patients and insurance providers. This position also requires a high level of accuracy and discretion in handling patient data and maintaining confidentiality.


Medical Biller Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal and state healthcare billing and reimbursement regulations.
• Follow internal policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue cycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, to ensure smooth integration and execution of revenue-related processes.
• Partner with billing and coding team members to maintain uninterrupted daily workflows.
• Engage with payers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and reimbursement issues.

Medical Billing Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
• Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers.
• Demonstrated ability to follow organizational policies and procedures.
• Capable of self-monitoring performance and making improvements as needed.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Medical Billing Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management preferred.
• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding or equivalent relevant experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare billing, reimbursement processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Medical Billing Work Environment:

• Open-concept office design that encourages collaboration and clear communication among team members.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods.
• Regular use of computers, monitors, keyboards, and other office equipment.
