Bridge Safety Manager - Construction
Location: (Regional Travel Required) Industry: Heavy Civil / Bridge/ Rail & Highway Construction

Position Overview
We are seeking a Bridge Safety Manager to support ongoing bridge and bridge rail construction projects throughout the Midwest. This role will be responsible for leading field safety efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across multiple active job sites. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, field-oriented, and experienced in heavy civil or bridge-specific construction environments.

This position offers a clear path of advancement into a Corporate Safety role for a high-performing individual looking to grow into a regional or enterprise-level safety leadership position.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage safety programs across multiple bridge and bridge rail construction projects.

Conduct regular site safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.

Enforce OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards and procedures.

Deliver safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training to field crews.

Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; implement corrective actions.

Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership to proactively mitigate risk.

Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.

Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across all job sites.

Required Qualifications

3+ years of safety experience within heavy civil, bridge, highway, or infrastructure construction.

Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.

Experience working in active field environments (bridge work, rail, traffic control, heights, etc.).

Ability to travel extensively throughout the Midwest.

Strong communication and leadership skills with field crews and project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

OSHA 30 (or higher), CHST, CSP, or similar safety certifications.

Experience with DOT, railroad, or transportation-related projects.

Previous experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
