Job Description

Hours : 40 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

As a Medical Records Specialist, you will...

  • Answer telephones, greet visitors, and track ingress of visitors for safety purposes.
  • Ensure that members served information, enrollment, disenrollment, eligibility information, outcome data, billing, and other pertinent information is inputted within specified time limits.
  • Maintain detailed records of documentation and assessment review.
  • Perform data validation and quality control checks by reviewing EHR(s) reports and other documentation platforms as required.
  • Utilize data sources to identify programmatic needs and/or compliance.
  • Conduct outreach and reminders calls to potential and current members.
  • Gather and prepare medical records for CRF QI Department Managed Care Plans (MCPs), as well as external agencies as requests, such as Social Security Administration and Legal Aid.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.

Education : High School diploma/GED required

Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • 1+ years of administrative support experience
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of demonstrated organization skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including intermediate skills with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to pass criminal/background clearance

This position is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and safeguarding patient information within the program. This role ensures compliance with HIPAA and other state/federal regulations, supports clinical staff with accurate and timely documentation access, and maintains confidentiality while facilitating smooth operations.
