Why Smart People Join Epic?

Purposeful, Varied Workload
No rinse-and-repeat here. You’ll tackle complex environmental approvals across sectors — mining, energy, infrastructure, renewables — with a balance of strategic work, site visits and flexible office/home time.

A Culture That Inspires
No politics. No ivory towers. Just smart, approachable people who help each other succeed. From grads to directors, we share knowledge, celebrate wins, and enjoy plenty of laughs along the way.

Career Progression That’s Actually Real
We don’t just talk growth — we fund it, plan it and build it with you. Whether you’re stepping up or scaling out, we support your journey with coaching, leadership access and national opportunities.

Join Our Environmental Planning & Approvals Team – Adelaide

We’re expanding into South Australia and looking for a Principal Environmental Assessment & Approvals Consultant to lead the delivery of approvals strategy for major clients across SA and nationally. This is a rare opportunity to take the reins, shape our local presence, and help build a high-performing team from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading environmental impact assessments and regulatory approvals (EP Act, EPBC Act, bilateral processes)

  • Advising clients on approvals pathways, environmental constraints and risk

  • Preparing and reviewing reports, referrals, EIS/EMP documentation and submissions

  • Liaising with state and federal regulators, clients and community stakeholders

  • Mentoring junior staff and building local capability

  • Supporting business development and strategic growth in SA

What You’ll Need

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or related field

  • Extensive experience in environmental approvals in SA or interstate

  • Solid understanding of state and Commonwealth environmental legislation

  • Strong communication and project leadership skills

  • A desire to shape and grow something meaningful — not just maintain the status quo

What’s in It for You

  • Build Epic’s presence in South Australia — with real autonomy

  • Flexible working arrangements (including WFH and part-time options)

  • Competitive salary + benefits tailored to you

  • Access to complex, career-defining projects

  • A genuinely supportive, no-bullshit team culture

  • National collaboration and mentorship from top-tier experts
