Job Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Writer based in United States.

This role is responsible for creating clear, accurate, and user-focused technical documentation for applications and complex systems.
You will research, write, edit, and maintain manuals, user guides, online help content, presentations, and standard operating procedures.
The position works closely with business, technical, project, and other stakeholders to translate complex information into accessible documentation.
You will help ensure documentation meets user needs, quality standards, project requirements, and applicable accessibility guidelines.
The role also involves developing visual aids such as diagrams and flowcharts and identifying opportunities to improve documentation quality.
Strong communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage changing priorities are essential to success.
This is a fully remote opportunity offering a focused three-month engagement with the potential for a longer-term continuation.

\n Accountabilities
  • Draft, edit, rewrite, and maintain technical documentation for applications and other complex systems, including manuals, user guides, presentations, and online help content.
  • Analyze products and systems to identify user information needs and determine the most effective way to communicate technical concepts.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams, project managers, and other subject matter experts to ensure documentation supports diverse user requirements.
  • Research, write, compile, revise, review, and proofread end-user documentation for both print and electronic publication.
  • Coordinate documentation and online help requirements with project and technical managers throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Create clear graphics, flowcharts, diagrams, and other visual materials to improve the usability and understanding of technical content.
  • Coordinate the review, revision, approval, and publication of documentation with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Ensure assigned documentation is completed according to project timelines, processes, and quality expectations.
  • Support the development and ongoing maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and related process documentation.
  • Apply accessibility requirements, including Section 508 compliance, when required.
  • Evaluate existing documentation and recommend improvements that increase clarity, accuracy, consistency, usability, and overall quality.
  • Work effectively in a virtual environment while maintaining communication and collaboration with distributed teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; directly applicable professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Approximately 9 years of applicable technical writing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing technical documentation for applications, software, or complex technical systems.
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, editing, proofreading, and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical teams and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with most Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to understand complex technical information and translate it into clear, concise, user-friendly documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines, multiple assignments, and changing priorities.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt in a dynamic project environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively in a virtual setting.
  • Experience working with government or healthcare environments is valuable, with Medicare experience preferred .
  • Experience with PDF remediation and Section 508 accessibility compliance is highly desirable.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment sponsorship is not available for this position.

Benefits

  • Compensation of $65,000–$68,000 , depending on qualifications and experience.
