Position: Bartender – Coffee + Cocktails | Gansevoort Meatpacking

Gansevoort Meatpacking is seeking an experienced, energetic, and hospitality-driven   Bartender   to join the team at   Coffee + Cocktails, our hotel lobby bar.

We are looking for someone with strong cocktail, spirits, wine, and beverage knowledge who enjoys creating memorable guest experiences and thrives in a fast-paced luxury hospitality environment. The ideal candidate is personable, polished, efficient, and able to engage with both hotel guests and local patrons while delivering consistently excellent service.

Schedule flexibility is essential for this position.   Candidates must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including daytime, evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Provide warm, professional, and attentive service to hotel guests and local patrons.
• Maintain complete knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, menu offerings, specials, and promotions.
• Engage with guests, answer questions, and make knowledgeable beverage and food recommendations.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
• Accurately take and enter orders and process cash, credit card, room charge, and other authorized payments.
• Prepare the bar for service and maintain a clean, organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing bar throughout the shift.
• Complete assigned opening, closing, restocking, inventory, cleaning, and side-work responsibilities.
• Monitor inventory levels and promptly communicate product shortages and supply needs to management.
• Follow established recipes, portion controls, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
• Check guest identification when required and immediately notify management of any concerns regarding intoxication or responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain proper cash handling and accurately complete all required end-of-shift reconciliation and paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with Servers, Baristas, Runners, Bussers, Culinary team members, and Management to ensure seamless service.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and alcohol beverage control requirements.
• Assist with restaurant service, special events, activations, and other Food & Beverage operations as needed.
• Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned by management to support business and operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous Bartender experience in an upscale restaurant, hotel, cocktail bar, or high-volume hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
• Excellent guest service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask efficiently.
• Ability to remain professional and composed in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and payment processing.
• Strong organizational skills and commitment to maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar.
• Reliable, punctual, professional, and team-oriented.
• Must have flexible availability, including daytime, evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
